Balloon Figures for Fun and Parties

By admin, July 28, 2010 6:40 pm

Kids learn balloon twisting from balloon artists who use balloon twisting to entertain, they twist and tie inflated tubular balloons into cartoon like sculptures. The balloons that are used for balloon twisting are made of extra-stretchy rubber so that they can be twisted, tied and stressed without bursting. A pump is usually used to inflate these balloons as they are chosen by the balloon artist because they are stronger than normal balloons.

For instance, decorators of functions such as weddings and parties may use hundreds of helium balloons to create balloon sculptures to add interest to the event. Usually the round shape of the balloon restricts these to simple arches or walls, but on occasion more ambitious "themed sculptures" are attempted. It is not uncommon to use balloons as table decorations and gifts for celebratory events. Table decorations normally appear with 3 or 5 balloons on each bouquet. Ribbon is curled and added with an anchor weight to keep the balloons from floating away.

Kids learn balloon twisting with balloon modeling

This is the shaping of special modeling balloons into almost any given shape, often a balloon animal or stick figure. People who create balloon animals and other twisted balloon sculptures are known as Twisters. Twisters commonly work as buskers, restaurant entertainers or clowns.

Usually there are two primary design styles, single balloon modeling, which restricts itself to the use of one balloon per model, and multiple balloon modeling, which uses more than one balloon. Each style has its own set of challenges and skills, but few twisters who have reached an intermediate or advanced skill level limit themselves to one style or another. Depending on the needs of the moment, they might easily move between the one-balloon or multiple approaches, or they might even incorporate additional techniques such as "weaving" and "stuffing".

Modeling techniques have evolved to include a range of very complex moves, and a highly specialized vocabulary has emerged to describe the techniques involved and their resulting creations.

Some twisters inflate their balloons with their own lungs, and for many years this was a standard and necessary part of the act. But many now use a pump of some sort, whether it is a hand pump, an electric pump plugged in or run by a battery pack, or a compressed gas tank containing air or nitrogen. Twisters do not generally fill their creations with helium, as these designs will not usually float anyway. The balloons for twisting are too porous for helium and the designs are generally too heavy for helium to lift.

If you are ready to see how you can do this we recommend you read a review that has taken all the legwork out of your search. Go to balloon twisting instructions for more information.

Magical Balloons and Children?s Parties

By admin, May 23, 2010 6:58 pm

Balloons are magical, just looking at one will bring a smile to your face. All of us in our childhood have played with balloons, bouncing them jumping with joy, setting them afloat on cool breeze, watching them with wonder as they rise up, up in the sky. Balloons bring miraculous smiles in hospital wards with children squealing in delight, clowns at circus shows, tied at the back of a just-married car, in parks and of course, children’s birthday parties.

There are many companies that specialise in events such as these. They include event planners or managers who will plan the entire party from start to finish. Balloons, popular cartoon characters, tattoo makers, face painters, games, puppet shows, magic shows… the entertainment list are endless. Many people choose a specific party theme such as jungle adventure, beach party, superman, princess etc for their darling child. Then the entire party decoration balloons , cutlery (even paper napkins), the birthday outfit and the cake everything is organised in tune with this theme. The success of such a venture involves careful thought and decision on firstly the theme, then the number of invitees (how many boys, how many are girls); the venue follows next, then the actual party itself. It’s easy to find decorations to match the theme once it is decided.

Many companies/outlets stock popular birthday theme options and sometimes a one-stop shop is all that is needed. However, should the choice be a little out of the ordinary, then there are many companies that will specially make decorations and party favours, including the piñata, shaped balloons, return gift, etc. Party managers also ensure that their team is present before time to take care of any last minute details. They also ensure that there is enough number of people to help the children play various games and move the party on in a well-oiled manner. So it’s easy to organise your child’s birthday party – just log on to magic-balloons.co.uk – your search ends there.

How About These Ideas For Party Balloons

By Catherine Allison, April 11, 2010 12:39 pm

A party isn't a proper party without balloons is it?

You can get as spectacular or as simple as you want. That's the beauty of balloons, they're so flexible. Just make sure you've got some!

Balloons are universally fun, they're simple to use, and they're easy to tidy up at the end of the day. Stay with me and I'll show you what I mean.

Use that fun association with balloons and begin building that party atmosphere before they reach the party venue.

If your house or venue is tricky to find, or if you just want to get your guests in the mood to party early, you really can point the way to your house using balloons. Using either helium- or air-filled ones of uniform color, tie them to street signs and lamp posts along the route to your place starting at about the half-mile point.

Include signs that indicate whose party these directions are for, and you're all set. Don't forget to tie a big bunch of balloons on your mailbox so that your guests know they have reached their destination.

Continue to build the anticipation by having your guests enter the "party zone" through a giant balloon arch. The children know that through the arch is where the fun is!

Decorate the venue and the food table with balloons to carry on the party atmosphere.

Twenty or so brightly coloured helium filled balloons floating around can make a big impact if you want to keep things straightforward.

Here's a quick tip. Use the party bags as weights for the helium balloons, use them initially to decorate the food table then, when the child leaves, they can take a party bag and balloon home with them. They've tidied up and were happy doing it!

Easy! Use balloons to build your party atmosphere and then send them home with happy kids at the end of it.

Halloween Party Ideas – Should We Use Them?

By buyballoonboy, December 18, 2009 8:47 am

Parties at any of the interesting vacation spots are without question very good fun, but now is fall... What is with a Halloween Party instead of resting home and watching TV (even if you have the best plasma TV to enjoy) or your weekly billiards play?
So, where can you find those great Halloween party ideas which can be a once in a lifetime experience? This is an annual event that you may have been attending to, but you feel that the parties you have gone to are very wearisome. And because of this, you're thinking of having your own Halloween party this coming year, but what difference can you make then? To make sure, you have to have a unique Halloween party, and you'll definitely have to make use of the not so popular Halloween party ideas to give your party its own radically distinctive idea.

As usual, it is necessary that your Halloween party must have your guests wear the appropriate costumes. Better be a little bit strict on this, so it wouldn't take away the fact that this is a Halloween party and the costumes must express the whole idea of Halloween.

Aside from costumes as for being a part of the great Halloween ideas that you may look into, you also have to choose the right decorations that you will be using for your party. You can actually turn your garage into a very exciting Halloween party venue. Since it's Halloween, you don't necessarily have to clean that much, just a little dusting would do. You'll just have to look into adding decorations instead. Maybe at the top, center of your garage, you may hang a disco ball that would be spinning around to make somewhat like a dance floor. Your decorations may be composed of plastic pumpkins, plastic bats and a few other spooky decors.

Now, since this is a party, one of the greatest Halloween party ideas that you can make use of, is turning your garage into a dance floor. To do this, it is essential for you to have a DJ play the music and some light effects. You'll just have to select the perfect songs for Halloween. These Halloween or scary music can be played every after dance music.

Next, is the food that you will be serving your guests. You may try creating your own menu. You can start from making your own Halloween finger foods portraying various scary characters. If you would be serving cookies, then you can have them enjoy bat-shaped cookies. You can make your own designs, if you are good in baking, then this would not be a problem for you, it would even be economical on your part. You will know that you are successful with this, if you and your friends enjoyed your moment together in this party.

Flying Monkey Costumes and Other Imaginative Ideas for A Halloween Party This Season

By buyballoonboy, November 25, 2009 11:11 am

The Halloween season is nearly here, and it's time to start planning your Halloween party. Need some creative ideas to spark your imagination? Ranging from casual to formal, here are a couple of very grown up ideas to get your party planning started. Parties don't have to be huge costume parties, there are lots of ways to celebrate the holiday in a low key way with a small group of friends. Let your personal sense of style dictate what type of celebration works best. Whether your Halloween celebration will be filled with fun arts and crafts projects for the kids or spent mixing up spooky cocktails for adults, we've got some super creative ideas to get your party off to the right start.

Halloween Dinner Party - Invite a small group of friends over for a grown up dinner party. Choose a theme such as Gothic, old horror films (Dracula, Frankenstein) etc. Make your own invitations, inviting guests to come to your shindig in costumes related to the theme. This is a great way to celebrate Halloween in style with a close group of friends. Themes such as the Wizard of Oz, for example, are a great way to get your guests excited about your party, and they can be encouraged to come dressed as their favorite character. There's a brand new line of costumes from the land of Oz this year, including a Flying Monkey Costume that is very scary looking.

Halloween Cocktail Party - If you don't want to do a formal dinner or a big blow out costume party, why not have a cocktail party? Halloween treats and drinks for grown-ups make for a fun way to spend Halloween if you don't really care to get dressed up and go out to a big party. Schedule your party as the first event of the evening for guests that do. Create a signature spooky drink that you can make in advance of the party. Make sure to try it out first!

Halloween Tea - Hosting a Halloween themed afternoon tea is a great way to have a formal afternoon party for adults. Start with a black tablecloth, add dead flowers for a centerpiece and candelabras with melted candles. Serve some Halloween themed food items such as pumpkin cookies, or cupcakes, witches finger sandwiches, etc. For a striking table, order all black plates and napkins to create a very Gothic mood.

Halloween Scrap Booking Party - Purchase Halloween themed scrapbooking supplies and invite your crafty friends over for a crop. A great way to accomplish a personal project while having a fun social activity. Great for people who are new to the craft as well as experienced scrapbookers. You can provide the Halloween related supplies and ask guests to bring their own tools and other supplies. Bring out some treats and wine, and you've got yourself a fun crop party!

Seance - This is great for an older teen sleepover or an adult dinner party. Decorate a graveyard and use lots of candles. A Ouija board can be a spooky addition to the party antics. Keep the party focused on fun by calling only on famous long dead historical figures like James Dean, Elvis, Marie Antoinette, etc. Super spooky or fall off your chair hilarious, it all depends on the group of people (and how many bottles of wine are involved).

Ensure the success of your party with a little bit of advance thought and preparation. Determine the type of friends to invite and what works best for that group. A Halloween Tea might be perfect for moms and daughters. A Dinner party works well for a smaller group of friends, and you can really have fun with the menu and decorating. Cocktail parties are ideal in big cities where your guests may have several social events to attend. Pick whatever works best for you and your family. Most importantly, determine your costume and order it right now online. You can go check out the Monkey Costume site to see the Flying Monkey Costume or thousands of other costume options. Happy Haunting!

Captain Jack Sparrow Or Captain Hook? Pirate Fancy Dress

By buyballoonboy, November 20, 2009 9:38 pm

Evolution Of Dance Party

Deciding on which party games to play is dependant on a number of factors:

- whether boys are attending

- how big the group is

- whether there is a theme

- what the attendees want to do

When deciding whether boys can come, you might want to bear in mind that girls are sometimes withdrawn when boys are around.

In addition, because girls typically mature quicker than boys, girls may prefer games which are more restrained and less physically gruelling! Naturally, this depends on which girls are coming, because many of them may prefer activity games to sitting quietly, and whether the main girl wants boys to be invited!

A good idea would be to ask the birthday girl, if it's a birthday party, what types of party games for girls she would like to be seen played and whether any of her friends have any ideas about what games they would like to play. That will certainly give you some inspiration.

Captain Hook costume

The villain in J M Barrie's classic book, Peter Pan, was the notorious Captain Hook.  In the 1991 film 'Hook', Dustin Hoffman played Captain Hook.  It's a wonderful fantasy story of pirates and Tinkerbell the fairy. This film gives you some excellent Halloween fancy dress costumes to choose from.

2.) Budget

If there are other holiday party planning enthusiasts organizing the party with you, you can split the costs. Remember that you have to spend for the food, drinks, invitations, venue rental, decorations, giveaways, music, etc.

3.) Venue

If you want the party to be close and personal, hold it at your home. The average home could accommodate about a maximum of a hundred guests. If you would indeed have it in your home, remember that you need to clean it first. If you have more than a hundred guests, or you do not like the idea of having to clean up the house, you could just rent a hall. You can check the available event facilities in your area via the internet.

4.) Guests

Who will be there? Will your family and relatives be the only guests or will you invite many other friends as well? What about neighbors? Is it a "for adults only" party or do you wish to have a kid-friendly crowd as your guests?

Remember that in holiday party planning, you have to organize everything ahead of time because there would surely be a lot of events going on. Make sure to get your guest list done and the invitations sent. Good planning would certainly ensure the perfect holiday party

A Baby Shower Diaper Cake Makes a Fun Activity for the Shower

By Edie Mindell, October 24, 2009 6:22 am

A common new tradition that began a few years ago is to include an arts and crafts segment as part of your baby showers itinerary. Arts and crafts are a great way to create fun and excitement, and to strengthen bonds between friends and family. Many women, and even men, enjoy spending time together while practicing fun activities like arts and crafts. Today, there are several baby-related crafts that are a blast and will create a great time for your guests at your celebration.

The most common craft for baby showers is probably the diaper cake. This is a group activity that all your guests can do together. This is a great way to start the party, as it creates a mood of togetherness and establishes unity among all your friends and family. For this activity, you will need around fifty diapers, fifty feet of a smaller, narrow ribbon, and eight feet of a thicker, wide ribbon. Cut the fifty feet of thin ribbon into one-foot segments.

Have your guests roll up each diaper and tie in place with a thin piece of ribbon. Ribbon can be baby blue for a boy, and pink for a girl. For a more neutral color, soft green or light yellow work fabulously. Start the base of your diaper cake with twenty-five diapers; stand them together in a circle. Use fifteen diapers for the next level of the "cake," and then eight diapers for the top level of your cake. Make each level separately and tie each group of diapers, or each level of the cake, with a strand of wide ribbon. Now, stack the levels of the diaper cake in order from largest to smallest, and you should have a wonderful baby diaper cake!

Baby bottle sand art is a fun craft that render fabulous souvenirs that your guests can take home. All you need for this activity is at least the same amount of baby bottles as your number of guests, different colors of sand, and funnels. Baby bottles can be the simple, inexpensive ones, and the sand should match your color palette for the baby shower. Distribute the baby bottles among all your guests. Have them fill the baby bottles up with several layers of different color sand using the funnels, and then close the baby bottles with their tops.

These turn out beautiful, and they are easy to make; they also make great party favors from which your guests can always remember your baby shower. For a special touch, you can have ribbon that has been personalized with your name and the date of the shower. You can also have stickers made with the title of the event and the date, and stick them on the baby bottles.

Scrapbooking is an art that so many people have come to love nowadays, and also makes a great craft at baby showers. You can give each guest a layout page and supplies, and have them decorate a background page. These can be put together to form an album for the baby shower.

5 Original Twilight Party Favors

By Aaron Hu, October 24, 2009 12:49 am

This fall Twilight fans everywhere are anticipating the release of the Twilight sequel New Moon to theaters this November. One of the main way fans will do so is by throwing Twilight themed parties for Halloween, Birthdays, or just day of release parties. Each party will try to make the event a fun and unforgettable experience for everyone involved. One way this will be done is by giving special and original Twilight Favors. These items are gifts that you traditionally give as thanks to guests for coming to your party. In this case a great way to thank fellow Twilight fans who came to your event with special collectibles. Here are some great suggestions for Twilight party favors.

A great idea is to give promotional merchandise from the movies as favors. Depending on how much you can afford you can buy posters, toys, and other items that the movie studio has contracted to be made to promote the Twilight franchise. A great place to look is at your local supermarket or party supply store. With a second movie in the Twilight franchise coming up, you will be sure to find some great items near you.

Try also looking on the internet. The big thing in retail is online shopping. It has been around for awhile but this year it has really started to hit its stride. The best thing about looking for your Twilight favors online is the wide selection available to you. If you know where to look, you will be able to find interesting items that can't be found by normal means. You also can take advantage of comparison shopping. If you do choose to for more generic options you will be able to look at different web sites and compare prices. This way you can find what you need at the best prices.

Look for items that have images of the movie characters. One of the big things for Twilight favors is finding items that have pictures of the key characters in the franchise. The key people are of course Edward Cullen played by Robert Patterson; Bella Swan played by actress Kristen Stewart, and Jacob Black played by Taylor Lautner. There are tons of pictures of these three that you can find online or at local venues. If you can give party favors with these three on them you are good to go.

The Twilight movie franchise is based on the novel series by Stephenie Meyers so also try to find favors that correspond to the book series as well. One thing to do is to give out music downloads of the authors playlists at your party. These are the series of songs that helped inspire Ms. Meyer as she wrote the Twilight books. This is a great idea especially if some of your guests are not aware of the website with the playlist. You can also use limited edition posters of the book covers as favors.

Another great idea for party favors is edible treats. While giving guests collectible items is a good idea, why not also give them something delicious to take home as well? The main rule of thumb is to make sure that the edible favors you give match the Twilight theme. For example you can give bags of red juice that looks like fake blood, or trail mix that looks like Dog kibble to represent where wolves. Planning great kids parties – revel without a pause!

Great children’s parties do not happen by accident - oh no! Behind every great kids’ party, a well-organised and creative Mum or Dad has spent a great deal time and effort crafting a memorable event for their child. Here we reveal the essential elements of a successful children’s party so that you too can throw a party that your child and his friends will remember for years to come.

If you begin the planning stage by focusing on the party’s theme, the rest of the planning will be much easier. So think ... does your child have a favourite book, cartoon, movie, or television show? Maybe they have a fascination with fire fighters or cowboys? Discuss theme options with your child and before you know it, you could be arranging a birthday adventure with Rhino and Mittens (from Bolt the movie), or a 1960s psychedelic extravaganza or a nerve-jangling murder mystery event.

Next, involve your child in designing the party as much as possible. Chat about the invitations, the guest list, the menu, the program, the décor and the goodie bags. All of these are a great opportunity for the child to learn about what goes into organising a party, about making decisions, about how much (or how little) things cost and best of all, it’s an excellent opportunity for any parent to understand their child better. For instance, you may find that your little one prefers small parties of five or six friends as opposed to the banquet you were planning or that he or she is very thoughtful about everyone’s beliefs and asks for no pork or beef to be served when food is discussed.

Once you have decided on a theme and a date, it is time to create invitations – these should include the date, time and venue of your party as well as a date by which you require RSVPs. This date should be set approximately 4 or 5 days before the actual party to give you time to shop for the appropriate amount of food, prizes, party-ware (such as straws, plastic plates, cups etc) and goody bag contents.

When shopping, always purchase more than you think you will need. It is not part of every culture’s ‘protocol’ to RSVP, so expect unexpected guests!

The games, food and fun activities you have planned may well fail if the atmosphere is not welcoming. Good decorations that are centred on your theme are pivotal to a successful party. Use bright colours and funky music to set the stage for an energetic disco party or dim the lights, scatter beanbags and have the smell of buttery popcorn greet those who are attending a pre-teen movie marathon party.

A successful party has age-appropriate games and activities to keep the children entertained, young children love the old favourites such as musical chairs and pass-the-parcel, while older kids enjoy scavenger hunts and murder in the dark. Kids can often be unpredictable so have more games/activities planned than you think you need. If a certain game is not working out or is causing conflict, having an alternative on standby will be a great help.

Make sure you have a 2:10 children/adult ratio meaning that for every 10 children there are at least two adults present – this will ensure that the party will run as safely and as smoothly as possible.

On the day, start the party with an un- structured activity like coloring in, so that any early kids have something to do and late kids do not feel like they have missed anything by arriving on time or a little late. So for example, if you’re hosting a Bratz themed party, at sites like Bratz Coloring Pages you’ll find the best Bratz to color

Have a plan regarding when you’ll play games and when you’ll break for food, cake and the opening of presents but be 100 percent prepared to ditch it. The concept is for everyone to have fun and you may well have to sacrifice the 'master plan' to achieve this. Not all children will want to play all the games. You may find that some will happily play with toys or colour-in, while the others compete in an egg and spoon race – and this is okay.

Entertainment other than games could encompass arts and crafts, gameshow style quizzes, karaoke, or perhaps you would consider hiring a professional such as a magician, a Bratz, a clown or a puppeteer. If you choose the latter, ensure you book these entertainers well in advance and make a note of this on the invitation – not all children enjoy clowns for instance and a word of ‘warning’ on the invitation will be much appreciated by the parents.

Party food is at its best when it is kept simple. Teens love pizza, garlic bread and soft drinks while toddlers love tasty finger foods and ice cream. You cannot go wrong with snacks and treats such as crisps, cookies and chocolate but bear in mind that it is likely some of your guests will have dietary allergies or requirements that you will have to cater for.

Children love the idea of a bag full of sweets to take home and party goodie bags are universally expected these days. However, they do not have to be a complex or expensive affair.Simple bags that contain a few sweets and chocolates plus a couple of small toys are always well received.

All through the party, do not forget to record the event by taking many photographs and footage. Perhaps a capable friend could be assigned this task so that – for a change - you and your family members all appear on the photos and in the footage as well.

How you close the birthday party is just as important as how you begin it. As much importance should be placed on the farewell as was placed on welcoming your guests when they first arrived. Brief your child before the party regarding the good manners required when parting with guests who need to be handed a goodie bag, thanked for attending the party and for the gifts they brought.

After the event, tidying-up can wait. Instead, try to spend some quality time with your child to talk about the party, his favourite highlights, the games, the gifts and the lovely friends who attended.
